The Observatory will track a number of individual businesses as they embrace the Regenerative Economy, but a more powerful indicator of progress at the system level will be what is happening in key sectors and markets.
To identify, test and track evolving Green Swan solutions, we are kicking off with deeper dives into four future market sectors, or “verticals”:
We work with a growing range of partners to identify Green Swan market trajectories and “Ugly Duckling” initiatives with the potential to transform the economic paradigm. So, for example, we follow the work of Eden Project International with huge interest – and are currently working on a couple of projects with them. Their founder, Sir Tim Smit, was an early recipient of our Green Swan Award (see under our Awards section). Their proposed new sustainability hub in Morecambe Bay, UK, is sketched below – one element of their increasingly ambitious global expansion plans.
